In the spirit of Cinco De Mayo, Purple Tongue, Ikarus Down and Jet W Lee played a gig at Frank’s Power Plant located on KK in Bay View.

Purple Tongue is a one of a kind group representing a latino alternative genre, original to Milwaukee. With Jair on bass, Jesus on drums and Carlos on lead guitar and vocals they really create a fine tuned rock sound on stage. While they’re a newer band, this bi-lingual trio sounds like they’ve been playing together for ages. Definitely one to watch. Ikarus Down is more of a low-key alternative poppy rock but is equally as enjoyable to dance to. Jonathan Ferrer is the guitar-playing lead singer with a soft voice & tendency to close his eyes while crooning. Patrick Masimore on bass, Ryan Gardiner on lead guitar, Daniel Langkammer on drums and Nicholas Brenneman on piano back up Jonathan, creating a sound that reminds you of Deathcab for Cutie with a touch of Anberlin. Ikarus Down plays local venues in Milwaukee and is currently working on a full-length album.
